Flutter: For Those Who Find Twitter Too Wordy

While the 140-character limit on Twitter is not long enough for some people, a growing number of users are wishing it was in fact much shorter. Yep, for some, tweets pushing the 140-character limit just seem too verbose. Enter the new “nano-blogging” service Flutter. Limiting posts–or “flaps” as they call them–to just 26 characters, Flutter forces you to get to the point in the same amount of characters in the alphabet, even if your followers don’t have a clue what you’re trying to say.And if you’re having a hard time condensing your status updates to just 26 characters, Flutter will do it for you. As the video above demonstrates, say you just sent the following tweet:

Working on some new designs for the album cover and watching project runway in my underwear lol!

Flutter would automatically shorten it to:

Wrking for project underwear

Of course this is all a joke produced by the folks at Slate Video. It’s a good laugh and probably won’t be the last satirical spin we’ll see on social media services like Twitter. Despite it’s overall utility for both people and brands as a way to connect and converse, the Twitterverse is certainly ripe for the picking in the jokes department.
